Jana Kramer: her story, her strenght

I think I’ve said it so many times in previous posts how much One Tree Hill (tv show) changed my life in better (and since lately, my life didn’t go in any direction, I feel like I should rewatch it), I haven’t been inspired only by the characters but by the actors too. I’ve supported all of them in any kind of thing they were doing: music or movies or independent movies or appearance in other shows.

So as a fan of the TV show, I am following Jana Kramer’s journey in DWTS (Dancing with the Stars) and she has been so vulnerable and great that I am really inspired by her strength.jana-kramer-e-660

In the past months, she went through a really public divorce, her husband, with whom she has a little daughter (Jolie), cheating on her several times and apparently he is in rehab for sex addiction at the moment. He did apologise on People magazine but that’s not the story that I wanna talk about.

I’ve followed Jana since her decision to leave the show to pursue her music career and she became such a great country artist with two amazing albums.

And now, she honestly talked about her previous marriage, 10 years has been gone and a lot happens, she said that her ex-husband was abusive and almost killed her, he went to jail for it and after he was released, he killed himself.

Jana, you WEREN’T selfish to think that it was a relief, he almost killed you so he probably had more problem that you could understand if he ended his life. I just wanna say, you’re an inspiration, keep going on what you’re doing cause you’re doing amazing.

Your songs inspired billion of people, I included. You were one of the few singers that helped me in a really bad time of my life and even now, where I am losing my way, I see your strength and I love it, it’s inspiring.

We live in a world where most artists show themselves in a way that it’s not classy at all. Thank you, Jana, for being one of those few artists that show her true self and she is not afraid to be vulnerable.

Love, I still believe in you,

The Intern Review

Last Friday morning, I turn on my Sky Cinema and this new movie was uploaded called “The Intern”, only for the cast it was already intriguing: Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway.

The plot is:

CEO Jules Ostin decides to do a “Senior intern program” and seventy-year-old widower Ben Whittaker applies for this position that, with other people, he will get.

The company is about fashion that Jules created by herself.
Ben is assigned to work with Jules and slowly they get really close, kinda like a father-daughter relationship.

Ben tries to not be too much strong on Jules, that honestly doesn’t like people that notice too many “wrong” things in her life or as she said: too observant. Slowly she gets to appreciate Ben.

But a lot of things are happening in her life, they wanna put a co-CEO to deal with the success of her company and her private life is not that great either. Will Jules learn how to relax? Will Jules let Ben help her ?

I have to say, these kind of “independent” movies are my favourite. The movie is funny and smart. It makes you think that if you work hard you could achieve everything and if you create something genius you could achieve something great.

And that your life doesn’t have to be over when you are 70-ish years old and that you can use your wisdom to inspire the today’s young.

Another point of the movie is YOU CAN DEFINITELY BE A WORKING MOM, why people should still have problem about that?!

I really recommend this movie if you need a nice Sunday movie and nothing heavy. You are gonna laugh for sure.

“It’s 2015, are we really still critical of working mums?”

Rate: 6/10

Things to do when you’re having a sh–y day.. evening version!

  1. Put a good movie
  2. Pour a glass of wine
  3. Have a nice healthy dinner (don’t stuff yourself with pizza, even if delicious! You’ll feel bad the morning after)

Movies of the week

Well, I gotta say, having free time from work it’s good for catching up on movies that I mainhaven’t watched and I am trying to explore all different genres.

Starting with old movies like “Pretty in pink” created by John Hughes, a legend in the 80’s, I really liked the movie because the end it’s kind of different, I don’t wanna spoil it if you haven’t seen it but I really recommend it. And who doesn’t love Molly Ringwald?

kill_bill_vol_one_verThen I passed to Tarantino’s 4th movie, “Kill Bill: Vol.1”, okay don’t kill me for this but I don’t really see this great movie. I mean, yes, she is seeking revenge but that’s it. Nothing else from it. I will try to see the second one soon. But it’s just fighting fighting fighting and that’s it. Of course, Uma Thurman is amazing in the movie, great acting. But it’s just REVENGE. That’s it. Kill them all. I don’t know.if-i-stay-movie-2

Then we passed to “If I Stay” directed by R.J. Cutler, the movie is from the book written by Gayle Forman, I have to say, if you see the trailer you kinda wanna see how’s the movie generally. So what you should know is that this movie will make you cry like a baby but it’s a good movie and great acting from Chloë Grace Moretz.

Another movie that I watched was “Two night stand” with Jessica Szohr from Gossip Girl. I needed a lighter movie after the previous one and I really had a laugh with this one. Omg, so funny. It’s not an “Oscar” movie but it’s so funny and it kinda shows you the reality of nowadays for dating. I am not a great fan of Miles Teller but he was really funny in this movie.

Anyway, this is the list of the new movie then I rewatched a few that are a MUST if you never did “Save the last dance” , “The bodyguard” and “Footloose (2011)”.

Have a nice week guys.

Movies are my life.

Why “A walk to remember” is my favourite movie ever?

Let’s talk about “A Walk To Remember”: for who lived under a rock in the past 12 years, AWTR is the movie about two teenagers falling in love even when they thought it would be impossible since they are really different from each other. Jamie is the daughter of the reverend9d123718ecfcaa16e4af1beaa42901a9 and Landon is the cool kid at school that hang outs only with cool kids. After he drunk some beers at school, the head of the school decided that to make it up of what he did, he had to be a part of the school play. In there, Landon’s journey starts, he get closer to Jamie that tell him that she would have helped him only if he would not fall in love with her (one of the best scene in the movie!). He’s so sure that it won’t happen because he is the rebel guy that won’t fall in love with the good girl. But of course, it happens and as much as she wants to be with him too, she try to fight it, for a bigger secret that she is keeping from him and everybody. Suddenly, she decides to give up on fighting and fell in love with him too.

“Jamie: How can you see places like this… and have moments like this and not believe? Landon: You’re lucky to be so sure. Jamie: It’s like the wind. I can’t… see it, but I feel it.”

After Jamie had a talk with his father, she decides that it’s not fair to keep Landon in the dark. So she revealed her secret to him.

Jamie: I’m sick. Landon: I’ll take you home. You’ll be be… Jamie: No. Landon! I’m sick. I have Leukemia. Landon: No. You’re 18. You – you’re perfect. Jamie: No. I found out two years ago and I’ve stopped responding to treatments. Landon: So why didn’t you tell me?

And that’s where the movie takes another direction, you see how the cool kid is actually really fragile, he wants to have, so much, a relantioship with the father that abandon him and his mother. Even if he is angry to him, a lot, he gives up all the anger when he needs his dad the most. One of my favourite scene is when Landon is in the car and he’s driving back home and he just starts to cry. Oh my. that scene makes me bawl. Jamie, from the other side, doesn’t want to ruin Landon’s life because of her sickness but he just shows, in many ways, how much he loves her, and she is living her last months, in the best ways that she can. (Spoiler alert if you didn’t see the movie!)

Landon: Do you love me? [she nods] Landon: Will you do something for me, then? Jamie: [smiles] Anything. Landon: Will you marry me? [Jamie smiles and kisses him]

That’s it. Who didn’t cry at this scene? His way to say that, makes you believe that there has to be someone like that outside in the world.

Jamie saved my life. She taught me everything. About life, hope and the long journey ahead. I’ll always miss her. But our love is like the wind. I can’t see it, but I can feel it.but-our-love-is-like-the-wind-i-cant-see-it-but-i-can-feel-it_1249

And the rest is history..or in the music video “Cry” by Mandy Moore

“A walk to remember” is the drama movie based on the best seller novel of Nicholas Spark, or like I call it “the book that I read in one day”. I am, of course, a big fan of Nicholas Sparks, I’ve saw all the movies from his books, and almost read all his books. Then, Adam Shankman, is one of my favourite director, and I love his way of changing loads from the book, but make anyway and amazing movie with the same message that gives the book. Jamie Sullivan doesn’t care about what people says about her, she is herself and believes in what she want to believe, no matter how bad people talk about her. Landon Carter, from the other side, he starts as the bad boy of the situation, but, thanks to Jamie, he sees life from a different view, from Jamie’s view.

The best thing of the movie is that he wants to make all her wishes come true even before he knows that she has cancer. I mean, that’s what every single men should understand. And even if he was young and he had a full life in front of him, he decides to make her first wish, come true.

This movie is my favorite movie ever. You know why? It makes me feel good, it makes me cry a lot, every single time, even if I’ve watched a thousand times, even when I’ll rematch it again, every single time. But, for somebody that kinda gave up on love, a few times, it just takes me an 98 minutes, to believe in love again and hope that there is someone out there for me too, that would make me feel like Landon makes feel Jamie. It might be silly, and sometimes is easier to give up on love, but at the end, how can you feel alive more than this?tumblr_lxg5shhRcO1r5s00a

Mandy Moore and Shane West played perfectly the two characters of the movie that I love more than any others. My favourite movie ever.

Adam Shankman chose the perfect soundtrack too. I’ve never, ever, ever, watch a movie with better soundtrack than this one: Mandy Moore (Only Hope, Cry, Someday We’ll Know, It’s Gonna be Love), Switchfoot (Only Hope, You, Dare you to Move), Cold (No one), Rachael Lampa (If you believe) and more.

To all those people that didn’t watch the movie, watch it now. I’ve made my sister watch it and loads of other people and everybody told me that it was too sad for them. Well, just watch it. It’s worth it.
